Fayette County Republican
Women's Club

News
-
The summary of
the survey forms turned in from last meeting with respect to our club's
volunteer efforts produced the following opportunities. We are looking
at:
-
Volunteer
opportunities at the Fayette County Republican Headquarters prior to the elections.
Carol Rogers will be happy to add
your name to the list.
-
Staffing
Republican booths for downtown activities:
-
Staffing a
booth at the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. - 12 noon
-
Items for
Military Missions. Susan Tucker will bring a sample of the items
needed, and we will ask that club members bring items each month to the
meeting. Susan will collect the items and closer to Christmas, FCRWC
will schedule a "work afternoon" at Military Missions and prepare boxes for
shipment to our service people.
-
We are looking at
our club's participation in the "Walk for MS". Brenda Craig
will check out dates and registration information. We hope to have a
representative number of club members walk as a group.
-
We will
collect children's books and present these to the Dr. Tom Pinkstaff
Clinic at UK which serves needy children.
This project will take place late summer, early fall.
-
FCRWC is
planning to distribute business cards (designed by Sarah Tucker) to
members who request them. These cards will be used at Commerce
Lexington events, and placed at Fayette County Republican Headquarters and
given to prospective members.
-
Sarah Cornette
would like to form an ad hoc committee to make phone calls to members
telling them of upcoming events, asking for volunteers, giving out pertinent
information, etc. If you are interested in helping Sarah, please
contact her.
-
We are looking
at purchasing t-shirts with the FCRWC logo on them, as well as t-shirts
with just the Republican logo. These will be sold to members and to
other interested folks as a fundraiser for FCRWC. We will have sample
T-shirts at the May meeting
Reminders:
-
It’s now time to
pay your dues for 2010 (Please

-
Don't forget to
turn in your volunteer hours!
-
Members must make
reservations for the luncheons. If you are unable to attend after making a
reservation, you must cancel by Monday morning before the meeting; otherwise
you will be billed for the meal cost. The club must pay for the number of
meals guaranteed.
-
The meeting
agenda will be set one week prior to each meeting by the Executive
Committee. Any unscheduled announcements must be cleared by the President or
First Vice President prior to the meeting.
